Snakes are fascinating but intimidating creatures. These long venomous reptiles possess fierce eyes and unique skin texture. There are over 3000 species of snakes native to different parts of the world, each having intriguing features and characteristics.

Most snakes are harmless, but the venomous  ones take thousands of lives each year. These creatures are often termed unloyal, cunning, and sly; many people consider them heartless due to their notorious reputation. However, snakes do possess a three-chambered heart.

This reptile is designed to kill. Its teeth are curved backwards so that any prey struggling to escape their mouth would fail to do so.

Instead of eyelids, they have a brille attached to each eye; this prevents them from shutting their eyes whilst giving them a glassy appearance. So to say that these creatures have an eye on everything wouldn’t be an understatement!

Their jaws are highly flexible. A typical snake elongates the jaw wider than its head! It allows them to engulf large masses of prey.

Many people believe that snakes secure top positions in the food chain hierarchy, but even snakes have enemies. Foxes, Mongooses, Wild Boars, larger birds intimidate these limbless reptiles amongst many other rivals.
